If your vehicle is slow to stop or you see rips and tears, it’s a good idea to get your tires looked at. In order to keep yourself and your passengers safe, your tires should be in good shape.

How to check your tires; do they pass these tests?

  • They should have the correct tread depth. Your treads should be no less than 1/16 of an inch deep. An easy way to test is to take a penny, place it head-down between the raised treads, and check whether the top of the head is visible. If so, you may need new tires.
  • No cracks in the sidewalls. If you see cracks in a sidewall, bulges or blisters, or any other visible signs of wear, it’s worth bringing your ride in to make sure your tires are still in adequate shape.
  • They should not cause too much vibration while you’re driving. You remember how smoothly your Toyota ran when you got it. If you notice vibrations while driving, or it seems to be operating more noisily, it’s a good idea to check the tires.

Not sure which tires to buy? Our factory-trained technicians know your Toyota’s specifications and can help you get the tires you need.
